buy Lurasidone for veterinary use I started this year out with one word in mind: Focus.
(You know what they say about hindsight vision being 20 20?)
Okay, I’m done being punny. Point is, it is towards the end of this crazy year and looking back I can only laugh at the expectations I started out with.
Yet these last few days I did sit down to take inventory of some of my “semi-abandoned projects” to decide what’s important enough to bring into 2021.
Looking at Mixed Media Art Journey in particular, I can see the neglect and the lack of focus.
When I first started this project, I was eager to share videos, and tutorials, and workshops. But that faded out because I don’t like filming and editing videos. It felt too one-sided. I’d rather it be a conversation where I can answer unique questions.
Over time, the effort I put into Mixed Media Art Journey faded out because life happened. It’s not that I don’t care anymore, it just hasn’t been a priority for me.
With that being said, when I dig deeper into the very roots– what Mixed Media Art Journey was born of– this blog was created to share my journey as an artist.
And on that, I have failed.
I learned how to sew earlier this year.
Sewing has always been an arch nemesis craft of mine. Literally every time I ever tried to learn, anything that could go wrong did.
Despite that, a random urge in February convinced me to buy a sewing machine and sign up for a class at Joann to try learning again. Hundreds of Youtube videos, and tons of practice later… I could make a pillow case!
The fact I barely even mentioned learning how to sew on this blog that is supposed to be all about my journey as an artist… is a major disappointment.
I should have shared more of that process.
But I was too busy to blog about it.
Because less than a month after becoming comfortable enough with a sewing machine that I could make a pillowcase… I was pumping out an average of 100-300 masks a day to donate to local nurses.
(On that note, the random urge to learn how to sew just made perfect sense.)
While that took precedence over blogging about learning how to sew, I do wish I’d made time to do both.
Because I have lots to say about learning a new craft or skill that overwhelms and intimidates and frustrates and excites you.
I’ll save that for another post.
What matters in this post, considering that ironic-on-many-levels word of 2020: “FOCUS”…
I am not giving up on Mixed Media Art Journey.
I am still on my journey as an artist. So this blog stays for 2021.
While I can try and do my best to share more than I have been, there are no goals regarding quantity or consistency.
Instead, I will always prioritize quality… because if you’re sticking around to read this blog, I hope I can exceed your expectations.
Thank you for being here <3
