http://thevintry.com.au/product/veuve-clicquot-yellow-label-nv/?comments_filter=comment_type=review I wanted to create something like sand art in a bottle, but using seed beads & glitter.
Long story short, it did not work at all like I’d hoped and the result is a mess of seed beads & glitter in a bottle.
I’m sharing this because it is a “project fail” and nobody ever shares those! Instead, we share the projects we’re proud of.
This may also be why beginners are reluctant to share their creations: we are never happy with what we create. (At first.)
When you look at art pictures shared by others, it might even be more intimidating than inspiring… until you understand that art- in all forms– is a journey.
Remember that pictures of art only show the final creation, not the trials and errors and lessons endured in the process. Not the time spent learning & developing the skills that went into that creation.
Sometimes, you have an idea to try something new. (Like I did, with a glitter-in-a-bottle idea.) The first attempt will probably never ever match what you envisioned. If you’re not following step-by-step instructions to create something, you’re essentially creating them yourselves and it will take much more to figure out what works and what doesn’t.
Each attempt can be viewed as a failure, or as a lesson. You can modify and try again– and then again, and again, and again. Or, you can decide you really didn’t enjoy the process and it’s not worth putting in the effort.
Either outcome is okay. It’s all a part of the journey- trying and testing new crafts & ideas to find those we enjoy enough to continue improving upon.
With that being said, I encourage you to take pictures of your art mistakes and project fails. Trust me, you’ll want to see them later on to preserve the progress made in the crafts you’ve chosen to develop.
